Clayton Callander is the President of FTL. He graduated from the US Naval Academy in 2013 with a degree in Naval Architecture and specialized in Nuclear Engineering before spending seven years in the US Submarine Force. He went on to Harvard Business School, graduating in 2021. Clayton then became President of a national HVAC company, where rapid growth and a shortage of skilled technicians pushed him toward a question the industry had failed to answer: How do you serve more buildings with a limited number of people? That question led to the Remote Equipment Monitor - a small, affordable wireless controls device that demonstrated how the economics of building management could change with the right data in the right hands. Clayton left to found Field Technologies. Facilities Triage is the category he’s defining.

Ben has more than 25 years building everything from web-scale systems to embedded hardware. He has grown engineering teams from the ground up and holds a straightforward standard for the software he ships: users should love using it, and engineers should love working on it. That standard runs through every line of the FTL Cloud and Hardware.

Rush grew up in controls: estimating, commissioning, and designing systems across healthcare facilities, commercial properties, and high-rise construction. He has founded and run a controls company, built a controls department inside a mechanical contractor, and scaled operations, hardware, software, and systems into a working platform. There is very little about this industry that Rush has not built, broken, and rebuilt.

Dave has spent his career across energy management and building controls for commercial customers, building direct and channel partner sales for both hardware and software solutions. He brings the same mentality to sales that the rest of the team brings to product: roll up your sleeves, hit the early milestones, delight customers and earn the next conversation. If you want to talk about whether FTL is right for your operation, Dave is who you call.

Our goal is to connect as many buildings as possible, as quickly as possible, to tools that make the people who maintain them more effective. We are honest enough with ourselves to know that we cannot do that alone.

Clayton Callander

President of FTL

Your buildinghas been talking.

FTL was built to answer. The technology to close the gap between what a building knows and what the people running it can act on has been available for years. Building the company to connect them properly is what brought this team together.
